Sensual Samedi – Toronto Glam Shoot!

Glam Session at a Toronto condo last month outdoors! Had a great time working with Hailey. Enjoy!

Sensual Samedi Late Night Edition…..”Watermelon Girl”

Another sensual samedi with an oldie but goodie entitled “Watermelon Girl” to take your mind off the cold weather. These photos have never been seen or published other than one close-up shot. Melina approached me from finding my work on the net and asked me to work with her. I normally do not shoot “Creative shoots” (free) unlessI think the model can be published or the images will sell in future. I made an exception in Melina’s case, she is an exotic mix of Asian & Spanish and was a stunning model. I was later approached by the New York Times in 2009 to use one of these images in a summer issue but I was waiting to see if they would sell so I had to decline. In any case I hope you enjoy this set it is completely un-retouched and as is. I love the old days of NO photoshop! Enjoy comments welcome

Fashion Friday: Class, Style, and a Splash of Rouge

It’s that time of week again, folks! Happy Fashion Friday to all of our lovely Exposure fans and followers.

Today the studio is featuring our photography of the stunning Ludmila Kolesnikov.

Brandishing 1940’s elegance in this classic series, Ludmila flaunts her exquisite features while sporting a scarlet dress; its vibrant splash of colour paying homage to her voluminous fuchsia-pout. This girl never ceases to astonish the keen eye of a photographer. She is the quintessence of a camera’s longing infatuation.

Photography and design-concept shot and produced by me.

Emily Rivkin was responsible for the immaculate makeup artistry throughout this session. To check out more of her work, visit her Facebook page.

Tune in next Friday to see which fabulous Fashionista we’ll be featuring next!

Fashion-Friday! Tamar: All That Sultry Vogue

These sensual images flaunt exactly why I enjoy experimenting with lighting so much. My photo session with Tamar highlights how effective it can be to toy with contrast and brightness in order to draw attention to the dynamic structures and contours of a model. I’m always amazed by how the slightest manipulation of light and shade can be such a powerful tool to shape the overall mood of a picture. In my experience, no photo-shoot is ever quite the same, so when I’m faced  with someone like Tamar (above) who possesses such jaw-dropping features that demand to be immortalised within the permanence of my camera, the tiny fashion photographer residing within me starts to fidget and tap; an itching restlessness to come out and make a scene! In this particular shoot, I found that the harmonious interplay between light and colour were elemental in making this series such a provocative display.

Shot back in Wiltshire at my old studio, this shoot was without question one of my favourites to prepare and produce! what made it even more memorable was the great pleasure of working with Omar Roessler; one of the most talented makeup artists I’ve ever collaborated with. He was able to achieve exactly what I had envisioned, using his skillful hand to harness the look that I’d been trying to manifest while effectively spotlighting Tamar’s sultry features against the lustrous space of my studio.

Tamar, our graceful model, was with Sutherland Models in Toronto at the time. With a hint of luck, I discovered her on the subway as I was making my daily commute home. Between her dynamite look, my vision, and our incredible makeup artist’s crafty expertise, the series came out swathed in aesthetic allure.

Some of you might be interested to know that I shot an additional nude version of this series as well.

Mundane Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I often find myself struggling with Tuesdays. They aren’t like Mondays, the ever-infamous weekday that we all love to hate. And they sure aren’t like  Wednesdays or Thursdays, when the light at the end of the work week becomes palpable as Saturday and Sunday start seeming less a distant fantasy and more an undeniable reality. But I still can’t quite figure out Tuesdays… they bear no significant value for me, and as I’m feeling rather bored on this particular Tuesday, I’ve decided to spice up yours with a little bit of what I like to call; “Caplette Foto Food-Porn”.

Am I making you hungry yet…?

In light of today, I feel compelled to wish you all a Tuesday bountiful with frosted cupcake-y goodness and cheesy-wine perfection. Go treat yourself!

CAPLETTE FOTO is Finally moving to a LOFT location!

Screen shot 2015-11-07 at 10.24.37 PMHi everyone! After three years working from a home studio, I have finally located a downtown loft location in downtown Montreal that is the perfect size for living and working! Finding a “raw loft” is a real challenge in this day and age, as condos have become king and are now dominating the market. I love the feel and vibe of a “real” loft as it had character and you can make it into what you want, and paint or build into it to suit your needs. I am very excited to begin shooting in the new loft soon! if you have any booking inquires feel free to contact me in the form below….will post photos of the new loft soon after painting.
